Our Story

In 2018, Jace Rasche and Drew Thurman moved their families to Waltham, Massachusetts. Almost immediately they discovered the network of non-profit and social service agencies in the area and started serving with several of them. It quickly became clear that many of the amazing helpers on the front lines of these organizations needed much more exposure and help. In fact, one day they hand-delivered gift baskets to numerous organizations and were met with smiles and tears. Many uttered the same phrase - "How did you find us? Not many people even know we're here, much less thank us for our work!"

It was from this, a dream of helping the helpers emerged.

What would it look like to pursue redemptive social entrepreneurship, where active community engagement and social change trumped profits? That became the pursuit. Their own struggle to find a quality workspace and a good cup of coffee birthed the dream of a hybrid business that would provide these needed services in Waltham while giving back in any way possible. Through awareness and storytelling, they hope to help everyone in the community become more engaged in the needs that exist in the city. And of course, provide a hospitable environment with a place to work and a great cup of coffee or tea.

This dream culminated in Common Good Co.'s name and its location in the heart of Moody Street.
